Mr. Hisham Al Rayes – Chairman

Hisham Al Rayes is the Chairman of Gulf Holding (GHC), a company that offers the Gulf’s cutting-edge real estate investment products and services. In addition to his role at GHC, Mr. Al Rayes also holds directorships in several companies including CEO of GFH Financial Group, Managing Director of Cemena Holding Company and Al Khaleej Fund & Investment Company, Board member of Balexico and a Managing Director of GFH Capital.

In 2012, he assumed leadership with an objective to establish a diverse and well recognized regional financial institution offering Wealth Management, Real Estate, Commercial Banking and Asset Management. Mr. Al Rayes was GFH's Chief Investment Officer during which time he was responsible for driving the development and execution of its regional and international investment strategy.

Prior to joining GFH and its subsidiaries in 2007, Mr. Al Rayes was part of the senior management team of the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), a leading commercial bank in Bahrain. During his tenure at BBK, he was responsible for a number of projects including establishing one of the bank’s key subsidiaries “Invita" and developing its e-Banking platform.

Mr. Al Rayes holds a Masters degree in Business Administration with Honors from the University of De Paul, Chicago, and a Bachelors degree in Engineering with Honors from the University of Bahrain.

Essam Al-Refai leads the administration and legal departments at National Real Estate Company (NREC), a publicly listed real estate and investment company with a presence in the Middle East and Africa. Al-Refai also holds the positions of Director of Government Relations and Director of Kuwait Free Zone in NREC. He is also the General Secretary of the Arbitration of Kuwait Free Zone.

Prior to his current appointment, Al-Refai’s distinguished career includes leadership roles in the Kuwait Ministry of Justice as the treasury head and financial controller. A trained lawyer, he also served as the Director of Administration and Legal at Masaleh Real Estate Company.

Al-Refai holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Kuwait University and a bachelor’s degree in law from Alexandria University, Egypt.

Mr. Al Khan is a well-reputed businessman with extensive experience across various sectors including banking, investments, industry, trading and contracting across the GCC. He holds a Bachelors degree in International Accounting and Finance from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, England. His experience comes from a career background which includes senior positions in HSBC Middle East, Capivest (Khaleej Finance & Investment) and finally as Deputy CEO of Inovest (formerly known as Tameer). Mr. Al Khan specializes in financial engineering of Real Estate and Private Equity products. He has been actively involved in the establishment and management of some unique ventures including:

Mr. Haitham Fekry - Executive Member

Haitham Fekry joined GFH as Managing Director – Real Estate Development and CEO GFH Properties in December 2018. In his role, he is responsible for overseeing all GFH Properties and Hospitality developments, projects and subsidiaries.


Mr. Fekry joined the Group with nearly 25 years of diverse real estate industry experience.  Most recently, he served for four years as Executive Director- Development at Eagle Hills, Abu Dhabi. Other senior roles previously held include eight years at Emaar Misr for Development, where he last served as Senior Development Director. Mr. Fekry has also held other strategic industry positions in engineering, marketing and sales.


He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture Faculty Of Fine Arts, Cairo, Egypt in addition to being a Candidate of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute, Chicago, USA and obtaining a Certificate in Project Management from the American University in Cairo.

Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Buhajeeh has an overall banking experience of 15 years with some of the prominent banks in Bahrain such as Arcapita and Kuwait Finance House focusing on Islamic Banking, Corporate Banking and Project finance.

At GBCORP Mr. Buhajeeh is Chief Administrative Officer since Jun 2016 and looking after the back office functions of the bank and also sits on the board of some of the investee companies of the bank.

Mr. Buhajeeh holds Master of Business Administrate from Canisius College, USA and Bachelor of Science from USA along with advance diploma in Islamic banking form BIBF

Mr. Sattam Al Gosaibi is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Khaleeji Commercial Bank and has over 20 years of experience in the Islamic Banking industry.

Mr. Al Gosaibi holds Master in Business Administration from DePaul University - USA and BSc inAccounting Science from King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals - KSA

Mr. Salah Sharif - Board Member
Mr. Salah Sharif is a Senior Executive director at GFH and Head of Administration and Operation at the Group. In this capacity, Mr. Sharif is responsible for the day to day oversight of all core operations of the Group and its operating companies.
 
Mr. Sharif brings to his role at GFH more than three decades of international exposure and experience in the best industry practices in all aspects of commercial, wholesale banking and industrial/infrastructure advisory sector, having worked with both conventional and Islamic financial institutions.

He has worked within the Group since 2007. Most recently between 2012 to 2016, he served as the CEO of Cemena Holding company (CHC), an industrial subsidiray of the Group, which is one of the largest cement holding companies in the MENA region. There he oversaw all operating activities of the projects/companies under CHC, managing and monitoring their overall performance. He currently also serves as a Board member in several projects/operating companies under the Group. 

Prior to that he held a number of senior roles at leading global financial institutions. this included serving as operations and Facilities manager, Middle East & North Africa at American Express in Bahrain where he was responsible for extending services for the entire MENA and provision of wide reaching centralized support to country offices across the region. previously, he spent nearly 20 years at Standard Chartered Bank in Bahrain in various managerial and executive positions including head of operations. 

Mr. Sharif holds a Master of Business Administration with a Distinction from University of South Wales U.K.
